Exodus 35:5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze;

 Dear Friends and Partners of Family Missions

I usually don’t write with any of the bad news that happens so often in peoples’ lives. We have so many good things to write about that God is doing here in Honduras that we don’t have a lot of space to write about what the enemy does.

We have been enjoying several working teams from the United States during the months of January and this first part of February. It just happened that both of these teams worked or visited one particular feeding center that feeds about 80 children each day. Just ten days ago Valerie and one of the teams did the Saturday Morning Bible Class and had a great time. This past Saturday was not their turn to have a class but I needed to deliver the weeks provision to feed the children. When I came around the corner I was shocked because most of the house and all the small rooms alongside of the house were gone and just burned and twisted metal roofing remained with our volunteer, Eva Ramirez, standing in the middle of it all with tears in her eyes. The fire had taken place the day before and they were cleaning and saving anything they could. There wasn’t much to save. She said that she was going to continue to feed the children this week somehow. Her refrigerator where she stored the food was melted and so were most of the things that she used to cook in.

I assured her that she was going to have better when it was all over and hope started to return. I gave her some money and told her that we would be back on Monday to start getting block and cement, which we did. Today we went out to start the work after returning from the prison where we have regular meetings each Tuesday. The man that helps me is a block layer and so he has volunteered to help with the rebuilding. He is Honduran and will be taking off work to help them get back into a place as soon as possible.

At first, I just wrote to a few people because I forget sometimes that people really want to know about these things. Eva has been feeding children for almost 7 years for no pay. She cares for several single mothers and just does a good job. I said that I wanted to raise at least $3,000 but as we started work, I think now that it is going to be more like $5,000. Whatever the Lord provides we will use to bless this women and the children that come to this feeding center. In times past, I have run out and tried to do it all myself but I am finally learning to allow The Lord and His Family to lend me a hand. We do appreciate whatever freewill offering you would give to this rebuilding and may the Lord even bless you with some special blessing that you have need of.

Jhon and Valerie
